An Update on Ethan

So this is the post were I was going to share all the wonderful information on what has been going on with Ethan and Doctors appointments, but I realize that I don't really have all that much time before the boys wake up. So I will just post this quick and share all these really cute new pictures of Ethan on here. And at a later....but soon later.... point in time I will give an update on why we have gone to the Dr so many times in the last two weeks.

Ethans First outing...other then the doctor

We went down to try out the new store WinCo the other day. They were having there grand opening and lots of yummy things were on sale. This was technically Ethan's first REAL outing.... other then all the stupid doctor's appointments that we have been going to.

News of all that later to come.

What a Stud!!!

Eli waiting ever so patiently for his dad to get ready to take him to the REAL soccer game. Doesn't he look so grown up.... and ever so handsome?

I jumped on the Band Wagon

I have read on about 5 other blogs about this cool new thing call Bountiful Baskets... well of course one is always looking for a good deal and a way to save a little money, so Matt and I thought that we would try it out. Yes folks.... all this yummy produce for 15 dollars. I have to say, I was quite impressed and will definitely be trying it again in a week or so.

OOOOOO So satisfied and loving it. All very fresh and tasty.

COOKIES

Eli and Daddy made cookies the other day. Eli wanted me to take some pictures of him.... so of course I did. He is such a cheezer.

Brotherly LOVE

Having two little boys.... what to say? I absolutely love it. I have read many stories about older siblings having severe jealousy of the younger sibling... and honestly, maybe we just haven't gotten to it yet, but as of right now Eli absolutely loves his little brother more then anything. He wants to help me do everything and anything. Hold him, feed him.... yes, even breast feeding. I will post pictures of that soon enough and tell you an extremely funny story. Read stories to him, put him to bed... you get the picture. So here are just a FEW pictures to show you how helpful Eli is with is little brother.

They both look so serious in this picture... I couldn't resist.

Eli was playing Iron Man with Ethan and he was trying so hard to get Ethan to hold on to the Iron Man doll, but it just wasn't working out quite like he thought it would. I love the pictures though and just the fact that he is trying so hard to share with his little brother. It's makes a mom proud.

OOOOOOOO the kisses.... so many of them. Definitely one of his favorite things to do.

Helping me put him to bed, but of course ending up in mom's bed watching a movie and then later on.... ending up like this. How can you not love this sight?

Reading stories with daddy. Eli loves to read... and im sure soon enough, Ethan will enjoy it just as much.

Nap time.... Eli says, " Nap time for Ethan too" and of course Ethan being a newborn, it is always nap time, so once again. We all end up in the same bed so I can supervise the cuddling.

I'm not even going to lie. I was really worried about the adjustment of having to little boys and I was worried how it was going to effect Eli and how it was going to change our little perfect family, but even only being a little into the second week of life, I couldn't imagine it any other way. It seems like we have always had Ethan and he is right were he belongs. And our little family is still just as perfect, just not quite as little.

Thank heaven for little boys..... especially MY little boys. My life would not be the same without them.

A Fun Photo Shoot

This is Ethan's second or third bath, and as ou can see, he doesn't exactly love them. I think it is because he is so cold. Once his umbilical cord falls off and he is able to get down in the warm water, I think he will enjoy them much more. Eli always has loved the bath, but I remember him being the same way in the beginning.

I love this picture. He looks so terrified in it, but so cute at the same time.

All of the previous black and white pictures I took right after he got out of his bath. He was so awake and he was just being so alert and cute. I really like the way they turned out, even if we were just playing around. I think I have another photogenic child on my hands... what do you think?

Now to explain the monkey pictures. Yes, that is what we call them. I love my boys to death, but they have a tendency to look like monkeys when they are born. We have a picture of Matt and Eli doing the same thing when he was born. I will post some comparison pictures soon to show you just how close these two boys look to each other. But that is why we have some random monkey pictures... it is tradition.

Introducing Ethan Scott May

Ethan was born on Friday the 30th of April, at 7:15 in the evening. He had quite the experience getting here, and this I am sure that I will share in a later post. I will give bits and pieces of it in this post, but I mostly just wanted to get some pictures out there to let everyone know that he arrived safely. He was 9 pounds and 13 ounces and 21 1/2 inches long. Nobody believed me when I said that I felt like I was having a ten pound kid.... well I pretty much did. He was a big kid, but so perfect.

Once he was born, he was taken up to the NICU to fix a problem they called gurgaling. He just sounded like his lungs were very full of something. They put him on a c-pap machine for about and hour, after they had suctioned out his lungs. They were not super concerned, and they say it is a pretty common thing that actually happens to quite a few kids.

This is right after they took the c-pap machine. He was just so relaxed and seemed so content with life. I love it.

This is Eli the first time that he got to see his little brother in the nursery. He was so excited, as you can plainly see from the cute little face.

The first family of four picture that we took. I look really bad in this picture, but come on, you can't expect that much after just pushing a ten pound kid out.

Eli loves his little brother so much. Future post to come showing all the fun that Eli has already had with his cute little brother in the last 4 days.

The day after Ethan was born was also free comic book day. Now you would only know this if you were a total nerd, which my husband just happens to be. A cute nerd, but a nerd . Eli needed some much needed mommy or daddy time, so Matt decided this would be a good time to take him out for a little bit with just the two of them. Of course they ended up at the comic book store. And of course, they had to bring little Ethan back his very first comic book. Eli was so excited to give it to him because he had also got the same one. I have to admit, it is a pretty cute picture.

Ethan and his Daddy

Mommy and all three of her boys..... Well, sort of!

Again, you can see the love that Eli has for his new little brother.

I have to admit, when Ethan was just very first born I couldn't really see much of Eli in him, but within hours and after his first bath, Ethan has now become a dead ringer for his older brother. There will be posts soon to show you just how similar these to little boys look.

All in all, the delivery and hospital stay was great, but I am definitely excited to be home. Thanks to all the visitors and friends, the thoughts and well wishes and well, just a big Thank you to everybody. We sure are super excited to have this new little addition home safe and sound.
